What is Go By Truck? Is Go By Truck a Broker?

How is Go By Truck different than a Load Board?

Go By Truck is a completely different system than a load board. All communication, paperwork and facilitation of payment is done through the Go By Truck system. Additionally, we only allow Carriers with great safety and customer satisfaction ratings on our system. When using Go By Truck, you can be sure that you are using a safe, secure network of professionals!

Can I search for Shipments before I sign up?

All Carriers must sign up and be approved as part of the GBT Network prior to searching Shipments on the Network.

I've signed up. Why can't I search Shipments?

Your registration may be awaiting final approval. When your registration is complete, you will receive an email from Go By Truck indicating your account has been approved and you are able to access the Network to Find Freight.

Why is safety verification such a big deal at Go By Truck?

It is important for Go By Truck to provide a network of the most reliable, safest Carriers in the United States. There are Carriers transacting business daily in the U.S. that are not properly registered, lack the necessary insurance and run illegally. Go By Truck properly verifies each Carrier to save Shippers time, money and liability. All GBT Carriers have documented authority and the required insurance coverage to legally transport freight via the GBT Network.

How do I resolve an issue on my safety record?

There are a variety of factors that may be keeping you from joining the Go By Truck community. If you suspect it may be due to a safety score, contact the FMCSA for a review of your report. There are processes in place and resources available to you to improve or restore your score. If you need help determining why you are not a GBT Carrier, call us at 417-501-8919. What will I need to sign up as a GBT Carrier?

To sign up as a GBT Network Carrier, you will need your DOT#, a copy of your authority, a completed W-9 form, contact information for your insurance company and a copy of your Hazmat certificate (if applicable).

Why do you need my DOT#?

Your DOT# signifies that you are a FMCSA-authorized motor Carrier. This allows us to verify your company and check your safety record.

How much does it cost to sign up as a GBT Carrier?

There are no subscription, membership or monthly fees. Your payment terms are determined at Shipment match.

How long does it take to sign up?

Sign up is quick and easy. Our goal is to have you signed up, approved and finding freight within two business days. The most lengthy part of sign up may be waiting on required documentation from your insurance company.

Will my account information be secure?

We protect your information using physical, technical and administrative security measures to reduce the risks of loss, misuse, unauthorized access, disclosure and alteration. Some of the safeguards we use are firewalls and data encryption, physical access controls to our data centers and information access authorization controls. When you enter sensitive information (such as a credit card number) on our registration or order forms, we encrypt that information using secure socket layer technology (SSL). Go By Truck, Inc. is committed to protect your personal information and the environments in which it is stored. We will not sell, rent, loan or release any of your personal information to third parties for marketing purposes and will only share your information with third parties that you have given us permission to do so.

What is the Personal Identification Number (PIN)?

Your unique Personal Identification Number, or PIN, is what you will use to e-sign documents on the Go By Truck system. Additionally, it is used as an extra level of security for your account when you contact our Customer Solutions Experts. We may ask for your PIN to verify your identity before discussing any sensitive information about your account.

If I don't pass the GBT safety verification, will I need to re-apply?

If for any reason you do not pass our verification process, we will continue to process your DOT# until you pass or the data is removed from the system by management. If you pass the initial verification factors at a later date, you will receive an email from Go By Truck inviting you to continue the registration process to be a part of the GBT Network.

Why should I sign up as a Go By Truck Carrier?

As a Carrier on the GBT Network, you are able to take advantage of a true free freight market, fast and easy freight finding, immediate payment and much more, all designed to give all Carriers the access and opportunities they deserve in the freight marketplace.

Can I make changes to the Carrier/Broker Agreement?

Every Carrier must agree to all of the terms and conditions of the GBT Carrier/Broker Agreement in order to have access to the GBT Network.

Why does Go By Truck need a copy of my Carrier Authority?

As a Broker, Go By Truck, Inc. must retain a copy of your Carrier Authority in your GBT Account file as proof we have done our due diligence and properly vetted you.

Why do I have to fill out a W-9?

The W-9 is the form used to register to pay taxes and includes the tax id number or social security number for which the taxes are being paid. Go By Truck will report all transactions paid to a Carrier to the proper tax authority and will issue 1099s to all paid Carriers on the GBT Network.

Why does Go By Truck need a copy of my HAZMAT certificate?

In order to transport hazardous materials, the FMCSA requires Carriers to register and be in compliance with rules and regulations pertaining to hazardous materials. If you do not have a Hazmat certificate on file with Go By Truck, you will not be able to view or transport Hazmat Shipments via the GBT Network.

How much insurance am I required to have to transact on the GBT Network?

Carriers are required to have a minimum of $1 million in liability coverage and $100,000 in cargo coverage to qualify as a GBT Network Carrier. Specific Shipments may require more coverage.

Why does Go By Truck need my insurance information and why is Go By Truck required to be a certificate holder?

All Brokers are required to collect proof of insurance and have it on file for each Carrier with which they transact business. Go By Truck is required to be a certificate holder in order to have direct notification of any changes made to a Carrier's policy. The insurance company is required to notify Go By Truck by mail immediately. Also, in the event a Carrier does not cooperate with a Go By Truck customer who needs to file a claim, we may release the insurance contact information to the customer.

What is the Go By Truck Referral Program

The Go By Truck Referral Program is a system of gratitude implemented throughout the Go By Truck Network. Upon sign up, you will be assigned a unique referral code which you can use to refer both Shippers and Carriers to the Go By Truck System. When any of your referrals use your referral code, you will become locked in to receive rewards off of every Shipment they transact through the Go By Truck Network for an indefinite period of time.
